Content Design for AI: How Collaboration Makes AI Happen

Co-presented with: Oliva Carden

How do you teach an AI to talk? How do you teach it to do more than just respond? To really answer your users’ questions? How do you apply good UX content principles when you’re not in full control of the content being shown to the user?

In this talk, Jessica Bjoeredahl (UX Content Design Manager) and Olivia Carden (Product Manager) discuss how they created a collaborative environment between themselves, data scientists, and developers to take their company’s sales copilot from a generic large-language model (LLM) to a specialized assistant.

In this session, attendees will learn:

  • Understand how UX Content Design can contribute to an LLM project.
  • Advocate for their own participation in these projects.
  • Do research to understand what users might ask an LLM.
  • Partner with PMs, developers, and data scientists during LLM-based projects.
  • Think about and write system prompts.
