Effective Content Inventories and Analysis

Whether you are making a major content transformation, a replatforming, or doing routine and regular upkeep, content inventories and content analysis can help you understand the current situation and chart a course forward. Most people look at this work as boring and tedious, but there are ways of making it more interesting. We’ll start by looking at identifying the goals of a content inventory, and ways of conducting them to match the goals. Of course we’ll look at AI, but we’ll also look at other ways of making content analysis work more effective.

In this workshop attendees will learn how to:

  • Clearly define the goals of your content analysis
  • Define a plan for best achieving your content analysis goals
  • Define what parts of your digital presence to include in your analysis
  • Iterate on the analysis as you discover more questions
  • Identify types of information that should be captured when evaluating content
  • Use either a traditional spreadsheet inventory or more sophisticated approaches
  • Effectively communicate your analysis for impact, such as summary charts, reports, and tables
  • Use special techniques for content transformation and migration planning
  • Apply AI to your content analysis
