10/18/07: across Introduces Web-accessible Language Server Version 4.0
across Systems, a provider of corporate translation management systems, will introduce its newly upgraded Version 4.0 of the across Language Server at Localization World in Seattle, Oct. 16–18, and the LavaCon Conference on Advanced Technical Communication and Project Management in New Orleans, Oct. 27–30.

New Features
Important new features of Version 4.0 include Web-based access, optional integration of specialized dictionaries, and open access to support new technology partnerships. Two new distribution options, including server leasing or hosted server access, will make it easy for enterprises of all sizes to avail themselves of the language management technology.

The across Language Server is a central platform for all corporate language resources and translation processes. With Web-based access translators and editors will need only an Internet connection and a Web browser to process assigned tasks on the across Language Server.
Niko Henschen, CEO of across Systems, says, "Seamless networking of all parties involved in the translation process has always been one of our system's differentiators. With the new Web client for translators, we add another option that further facilitates the collaboration of customers, project managers, translators and editors."
Contents of Specialized Langenscheidt Dictionaries Integrated in across Terminology System
Another new optional feature is the ability to use the contents of digital dictionaries from Langenscheidt publishers directly in the across terminology system, crossTerm. This is the first integrated terminology database in which corporate technology and general specialized terminology can be used in one system, seamlessly interwoven with the translation editor.
