Community Service Day
2007
Last year, conference attendees volunteered with Habitat for Humanity to help rebuild homes in the Nineth Ward section of New Orleans that were destroyed during hurricane Katrina.
The participants had a blast! Who knew community service could be so fun?

2008
Participants had so much fun and found last year's event such a rewarding experience that we decided to make the community service day an annual event.
This year we are planning an environmental
conservation event in conjunction with
the
University of Hawaii’s
Marine
Biology Department and Marine Option program:

We are still in the processes of securing the needed permits, but we are tentatively scheduled to do a beach cleanup day on Sunday, November 9th
(the day after the conference).
Many thanks and warm aloha! to the University of Hawaii’s Marine Biology Department and Marine Option program who are helping to organize the event, and to the Project Aware Foundation who has donated material support our event.

So reserve the date, pack your sunscreen, and watch the conference eNews list for more information.
See you there!
